Kiki used to love eating shoe laces. Just ask a few friends and family members who have visited only to leave minus a length of shoelace. I’ve learned to put laced shoes where she won’t have easy access. Even though I still do this, I thought she was, for the most part, over this habit. (She still likes to try and eat my hair, so perhaps not.)
I had a pair of Prime “Try before you buy” dance sneakers on the dining table. One morning when I was in bed with Covid I heard something go “thunk” from the other room. I found the box and sneakers on the floor.
But I wasn’t feeling all that great so I didn’t investigate and didn’t notice anything “off” about them. I put the sneakers back in the box.
Apparently I missed the 3.5 inches of lace that had been chewed off.
I did NOT miss them this morning when they came back up, replete with aglet intact. ![]()
It’s a good thing the shoes fit and feel ok because I wouldn’t have been able to send them back to Amazon sans lace.
Maybe I can send the cat back to Amazon instead.
